The War Within
Have you ever experienced this war? Do you ever feel like there’s something within you that fights you with every step that you try to take forward? That no matter how hard you try, and how much “self-control” you muster up, it’s not enough for lasting progress?
I have experienced this very thing. And I hear this frequently from my clients. They come to me frustrated, because they’ve done all that they know to do, and yet, there is still no progress or very little progress. They are stuck and don’t know why.
A Client’s Experience
A recent client had a picture of a body that was split down the middle. Half was blue and half was red. I thought that this was such a clear picture of the reality that so many express, that I asked if I could share this image with you.
The war takes on many forms, and has been slightly different for everyone that I’ve worked with. But, there always has been some kind of generational issue that is at play and blocking the fullest expression of the person’s identity and purpose. It seems to be that we instinctively know who and what we were created to be within our subconscious mind. Often times, generational blocks hinder the expression of our giftings, callings, or identities. Hence the war within. We know what it is that we want to do and be, but the enemy has access to us in some way that is blocking us at every turn.
After my client and I cleared out some generational pieces, as well as the emotional trauma resulting from them, she began to see these points of light coming through. They soon began to connect with each other. 
I’ve created a simple schematic that hopefully gives you a picture of what happened. The light of freedom and wholeness is breaking through the generational blockages that have held my client in this battle. We are breaking the hold that the bondage from her ancestors had on her, the blocks are being released.
The war is being won!
Winning the War Within
After the generational piece is cleared out, we then pray for a restoration and reconnection of all that’s been lost or blocked or whatever is appropriate in the situation. There are some differences in how we handle each type of generational issue, and so there are some differences in the prayers that we pray to input the positive. We never want to just remove the bad without putting in the good.
And, here she is, at peace within herself.
There are often many layers that need to be dealt with. I know there are some people who can do something like this once and all is well. For others, they need multiple times of taking off various layers and issues. I’m not sure what the difference is. Why is healing so easy for some, and more complex for others? I don’t know. What I do know, is that God is very patient and kind to us as we pursue our healing however it needs to come.
